- Accumulator
- Similar to a parlay, this bet combines multiple selections into one wager where all must win to return a profit.
- American Odds
- Odds displayed as either a positive number showing profit on a $100 bet or a negative number showing how much you must wager to win $100.
- Arbitrage Betting
- Placing bets on all possible outcomes across different sportsbooks to guarantee a profit regardless of the result.
- Bankroll Management
- The practice of allocating and controlling funds for betting to minimize risk and extend playtime.
- Cashback
- A promotion refunding a percentage of net losses back to the bettor, typically as bonus funds or free bets.
- Chasing Losses
- Increasing bet sizes to recover money lost on previous wagers, a risky behavior that often leads to greater losses.
- Decimal Odds
- Odds expressed as a single number showing the total return for every one unit wagered, including the stake.
- Deposit Bonus
- A matched percentage of your deposit awarded as bonus credits, subject to wagering conditions before withdrawal.
- Fractional Odds
- Odds shown as a fraction, indicating the profit you make relative to your stake, common in UK betting.
- Free Bet
- A promotional token allowing you to place a bet without using your own money, with only the profit returned to you.
- Hedged Bet
- Placing an additional wager on the opposite outcome to reduce potential loss or secure a guaranteed profit.
- House Edge
- The mathematical advantage a sportsbook holds over bettors, expressed as a percentage of each wager.
- Juice
- Slang for the sportsbook's cut, usually the extra ten percent added to even bets as the bookmaker's fee.
- KYC
- Know Your Customer checks, where the sportsbook verifies your identity and age to prevent fraud and comply with regulations.
- Moneyline Bet
- A wager on which team will win a match outright, with odds expressed as a positive or negative number.
- Odds Boost
- Enhanced odds offered on specific events, increasing potential payouts without changing the implied probability.
- Over/Under
- A bet predicting whether the total combined score in a match will be over or under a number set by the sportsbook.
- Parlay
- A single bet that links together multiple individual wagers and requires all of them to win for a payout.
- Point Spread
- A handicap given to one team to level the playing field, requiring the favored team to win by a certain margin.
- Rollover Requirement
- The number of times you must bet your deposit plus bonus funds before withdrawing any winnings from that bonus.
- Self-Exclusion
- A voluntary account freeze that blocks access to betting services for a set period, used to promote responsible gambling.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a single bet or the total amount wagered across multiple bets.
- Value Bet
- A wager where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, theoretically giving bettors an edge.
- Vig
- The commission or fee a sportsbook charges for taking a bet, built into the odds to ensure a profit margin.
- Wagering Requirement
- A condition stating how many times bonus money must be wagered before it converts to withdrawable cash.
